Hi! My name is Missy Miller, married to Clark Miller and we have five children, 4 boys and 1 girl! We live in Texas on a 12 acre "hobby" farm which we all thoroughly enjoy! Our family is very active, we love sports, we love competition and we love supporting each other!
I want to share with you "my story", or at least as much of it as possible! I finished my dietetics schooling in 2005, became a Registered Dietitian and quickly went to work for a food broker company where my role was to sell food to schools and hospitals. After being there for about 6 months, I found that I was pregnant with our first boy.
When he was born, I knew it was going to be incredibly hard to leave him, but I just thought that’s what moms were supposed to do in our day and age. Starting at just 9 weeks old, Clark and I would wake up early to get our new baby to daycare. I'd miss events that he was too young to even know were happening but momma knew! Like an Easter parade where they strolled the babies around in their cribs complete with handmade Easter hats. I showed up that day to pick him up and I found out what I’d missed. I sat in my car in CRIED my eyes out. After being back at work for about 10 months, I ended up having to leave a food show because of an anxiety attack…my chest felt like it was going to explode and I had never dealt with that feeling before and actually didn’t even know what it was called! Thankfully, now I know that essential oils could have drastically helped me cope during that time!
I knew something needed to change with my job. However, we had become financially dependent on my income as well, so I decided I would go in to real estate. I finished the schooling for my real estate license very quickly and aligned myself with a residential broker. I was gone way too many nights and weekends. It wasn't working either. Then, I went in to commercial real estate after being asked to join a friend in his business, where my work hours were more traditional. Not long after being there, I was pregnant with my second boy. I continued to work for 2 months after he was born to find out that I was pregnant with our third boy and he was born 11 months and 3 weeks after my 2nd! Finally, I understood, the Lord had been preparing my way and I was supposed to bring everyone home. My role was to be full time mommy and we just made that financial jump and knew the Lord would provide. Our 4th baby was born 18 months later and for the next 3 years I spent all my time feeding, changing diapers and all those things a mother does who is "in the thick of it" and pretty much in survival mode!
In July of 2013, my friend Kristen Petri hosted her first oil class. Although I had been using the oils on and off for 2 years prior, I fully jumped in that day and began using the oils often! Previously, I had been introduced to oils when our daughter had seizures at 5 months old...this was when I became more awake to chemicals, toxins, traditional healthcare, & environmental factors affecting health but this time, I had just been through a rough time with my back and was nearing surgery. This was truly the best decision I made in our family's health!
The network marketing industry and more importantly, Young Living as a company, has provided me SO much! I've grown personally, professionally and spiritually. Ways I never dreamed I could do "at home" while still raising and homeschooling my children at that time. We've learned a wealth of information on keeping our family well and we are still learning from our community that teaches us so much! My income has grown to over a full-time income that would take 10-20 years to achieve in my traditional profession. I've seen the fruits of being a network marketing professional. I found a way to grow this business while homeschooling my children for the first 5 years of running this business, assisting my husband open his ju jitsu gym where he taught 3 nights a week and trains or coaches our children the off nights on top of his traditional work requiring 50+ hours a week and travel. Because of this, I know that it CAN be done and I know that with a deep passion for helping others, nothing can stop any of us! Keeping my main reasons for sticking with this business, my WHY of how it has changed our family’s financial outlook and health, the ability to be able to give freely whenever I choose to others who are in need, keeps me going and my hope is always to encourage others who may be looking for the freedom that Young Living can provide in wellness and abundance!
